When I look at myself in
front of the mirror, I discover some small gray spots starting to develop
on my face and particularly on the surface of my nose. It is probably due
to the accumulation of dark pigment under the skin as a result of excessive exposure of
UV light. This reminds me of my recent journey to the south-western province of China called
Yunnan, a mysterious place where more than 50 ethnic minorities live.
It was just
about 15 days ago when I joined the tour to Yunnan with my friend, Fred, who
came from the US. Although there were only 22 members in this tour, there
were quite a lot of distinctive and unique personalities around us. The tour guide
was a fat boy whose surname is Wong. He insisted that people should only call
him nothing else but ˇ§Fat Gaˇ¨. He explained that ˇ§Fat Gaˇ¨ was a lucky name for him
because it would bring him and the whole tour good luck and fortune throughout the
journey. Apart from ˇ§Fat Gaˇ¨, other prominent tour members included ˇ§The King
of Teaˇ¨, ˇ§The King of Beerˇ¨, ˇ§The King of Fortuneˇ¨, ˇ§The Big Sisterˇ¨, ˇ§The Quiet Twinsˇ¨ and ˇ§The
Loˇ¦s Beautiful Fourˇ¨.
